In Spring 2011 DFAC introduced a new program know as Jr. Falcons Spring Training. The program is designed to provide player's new opportunities for skill enhancement and serve as a bridge between our recreational league and the DFAC Falcon competitive basketball program. DFAC will continue the Jr. Falcon Spring Training program again in 2012, beginning April 14th, 2012. The Jr. Falcon Spring Training program will be broken up into 3 age groups, 2nd/3rd, 4th/5th and 6th/7th grades. All Sessions will be run by members of the DFAC Training Staff.
What is the Jr. Falcons Spring Training?
The Jr. Falcons Program is an introduction to the Developmental /Competitive
Basketball program of Desert Foothills Athletic Club (DFAC). It is
designed for players who enjoy the sport of Basketball and are seeking an
opportunity to take their skills and teamwork to a higher level. DFAC
Falcons Programs will focus on the acquisition of skills, the importance of
sportsmanship and the power of teamwork. The new program is divided in
two parts:
Introductory Phase
This phase will consist of four one-hour training sessions focusing on skill
evaluation and enhancement, while introducing young players to our professional training
staff. This phase will begin April 14th, 2012 and there will be no charge to players.
Skills Enhancement Phase
This phase will consist of six sessions and is designed for players who decide to
continue developing their skills and enjoy working with our Pro trainers. This
phase begins April 28th, 2012 and will cost $50 (includes Jr. Falcons T-shirt).
How Can I Participate?
Players can be referred by their coach, by a DFAC Pro trainer, or any player who
just enjoys Basketball and wants to enhance their skills can nominate themselves!

Tentative Schedule For Introductory Phase (No Cost)
When: Saturday's 4/14, 4/21, and Monday's - 4/16, 4/23
Locations: Saturday's at Desert Arroyo and Monday's at Sonoran Trails Middle School
2nd/3rd Grades: Saturday's from 9:00am - 10:00am and Monday's from 5:00pm - 6:00pm
4th/5th Grades: Saturday's from 10:15am - 11:15am and Monday's from 6:15pm - 7:15pm
6th/7th Grades: Saturday's from 11:30am - 12:30pm and Monday's from 7:30pm - 8:30pm
Tentative Schedule For Skills Enhancement Phase ($50)
When: Saturday's - 4/28, 5/5, 5/12 and Monday's - 4/30, 5/7, 5/14
Location: Monday's at Sonoran Trails Middle School and Saturday's at
Desert Arroyo Gym

4th/5th Grades: Saturday's from 10:15am - 11:15am and Monday's from 6:15pm - 7:15pm
6th/7th Grades: Saturday's from 11:30am - 12:30pm and Monday's from 7:30pm - 8:30pm
Note: 2nd Grade players must be ready to play on the regulation 10 foot baskets.
How does a player join the DFAC Falcons program if they enjoyed the Jr. Falcons Spring Training?
In August, all DFAC Falcons teams begin the team selection process for players
3rd Grade & up. At that point, players in the Jr. Falcons program will have the
advantage of professional training and be on their way.
What is the DFAC Falcons Program?
The DFAC Falcons program is the Developmental and Competitive basketball program
of Desert Foothills Athletic Club (DFAC). The DFAC Falcon's Program is an outlet
for players who enjoy the sport a great deal and are looking to take their skills and
teamwork to a higher level. Teams focus on the acquisition of skills, the importance
of sportsmanship and the power of teamwork. This program has become one of the
top basketball programs in the State.
