Desert Foothills Athletic Club Basketball@dfacsports.comRemember To Clean Up!Coaches, parents and players, please remember to clean up after your games. Please pick up all garbage, water bottles ect. left in the bench area and the bleachers even if it’s not your mess. Also, outside the gyms have been left with garbage on the ground after snacks are passed out. Please make sure all materials are placed in the garbage cans after your games. If we all pitch in and help it should only take a minute of two after each game.If one of your players spills a beverage during the game please clean it up immediately. Each gym has a gray bin usually behind the scorer's table with paper towels inside. If your busy please ask a parent of assistant coach to clean it up right away before kids step in it and track it on to the courts. Also, after each game please allow the teams playing before you to shake hands with the other team and officials and give them a minute of two to pick up there stuff in the bench area before coming into the bench area to set up for your game. There also have been complaints that when asked to clean up people have been rude to the custodians. Remember, they are employed by the school district for school maintenance, not to clean up after DFAC. Do not make their job any harder than it needs to be. Please respect them and any school employees or DFAC personal that may be on the school grounds during our games. We should be thanking them for the thankless job they do. We would ask coaches and parents for assistance and patience on setting up for the first games each week and cleaning up after the final games each week. We don't have keys to the gyms or bathrooms and from time to time the security that opens the gyms may be late in opening or may want to rush us out late in the day. If you have the first game of the day and the gym is not ready when you arrive, don't complain, but instead jump in and help set up. If you have the final game of the day help make sure that everything is cleaned up in the gyms. DFAC is runs completely by volunteers who donate there time to set up and clean up each week. There really isn't a Volunteer Fairy who takes care of things. Again, coaches please help and ask parents and players could pitch in cleaning up the gyms they will get done a lot faster. This will be a great help. |
